Their Story
Delilah was born on February 7, 1957, in Wichita, Kansas, to Burns and Leona Teague. She grew into a woman who never met a stranger — everywhere she went, she welcomed everyone with her love and kindness.
She married Timothy Davis and built a life with him over thirty-four years. Delilah loved being a grandma, and some of her happiest days were the ones spent taking the whole family to the pool. She took care of the people she loved and held them to high standards — and she made sure no one ever went hungry, cooking for anyone who came through her door. To more people than she could count, she was the unofficial mom and grandma.
Her faith and her love of people went hand in hand. She helped initiate Open Door pregnancy care, and she helped form and charter New Hope Baptist Church — a home she gave to her whole community. She collected angels, unicorns, and cherished teddy bears, and she gave away far more love than she ever kept.
